Discrimination and historical injustices have led to the rise of several groups fighting for human, civil and immigrants’ rights.
The groups fight for a common cause to achieve the international human rights standards and strengthen the role of law as well as upholding a civil society. Some of these organizations include;
Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund

The organization was founded the United States Court of Appeal declared that they get a $3.75 million settlement for illegal imprisonment. The two journalists had earlier run a story about Sherriff Joe Arpaio criticizing him of corruption in the Maricopa Sherriff Department. The two philanthropists were arrested on October 18, 2007, and sent to separate prisons.
The arrest raised eye brows of citizens, and the two journalists were released 24 hours later. In the court, it was declared that the detention breached their First Amendment rights and the Maricopa County was directed to pay them.
